General Manager

Hailing from the stunning Croatian coastline, Luka Kalinic brings a deep appreciation for exceptional gastronomy, wine, and hospitality to his role as Assistant General Manager at Wit & Wisdom, located within The Lodge at Sonoma, an Autograph Collection Hotel and part of Sage Hospitality Group. Growing up immersed in Croatia's rich culinary traditions, Luka developed a passion for hospitality early on, inspired by the region's warm culture and its emphasis on community and shared experiences. 

In 2014, Luka moved to the United States to pursue a career in hospitality, where his dedication and commitment quickly set him apart. He joined the renowned MINA Group in 2019 as a server at International Smoke in San Francisco, where he excelled in delivering top-tier guest experiences. Luka’s natural leadership and attention to detail led him to PABU, another acclaimed MINA restaurant in San Francisco, where he progressed rapidly through roles from Server to Captain, then Restaurant Manager, and ultimately to Assistant General Manager. Throughout his time with MINA Group, Luka established himself as a dynamic leader with a focus on team development, operational excellence, and creating memorable dining experiences. 

Now at Wit & Wisdom, Luka leverages his extensive experience within MINA Group and passion for hospitality to oversee daily operations, inspire his team, and ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. His strong background in both front-of-house service and management, combined with his love of food and wine, makes him a key asset to Wit & Wisdom . Luka remains committed to delivering exceptional service that reflects the spirit of Sonoma’s wine country. 

Outside of the restaurant, Luka enjoys sophisticated music, fine wine, exquisite dining, traveling, and cherishing quality moments with his family. His passions not only enrich his personal life but also deepen his connection to the vibrant food and wine culture that defines Sonoma Valley.
